Infrastructure:

mBIO offers wide range of instruments ranging to study different aspects of biological research. The sophisticated equipments for molecular biology, cell biology includes PCR (gene expression), western blot running & transfer unit (protein expression), DNA running gel sets, multiple power packs, bacterial genetics related small equipments, pH meter, magnetic stirrer for buffer preparation, microscopes (upright & inverted), spectrophotometer, plate reader, different kind of rockers/shakers, centrifuges, laminar air flow, biosafety cabinet, refrigerators & freezers, table top temperature regulated shaker, transilluminator, sets of pipettes, autoclave and other regular laboratory small equipments for running the experimental set up.

In addition, mBIO also has different kind of equipments for field studies for ecology/biodiversity/fishers/toxicology which includes digital multi-parameter pen, portable pH/ORP/temp meter, GPS range finder, aquariums for fish storage & breeding and related accessories to perform the aims and objectives of the different kind of projects related to this.

Subjects we will cover

A special emphasis will be given by organising workshops on ‘Space Biology’ research. It is a fascinating field which studies the physiology of astronauts. We will use state of art equipments (all patented) and coordinated simulation to understand the changes in physiology perspectives using cutting edge molecular and cell biology approaches.

In addition, we will demonstrate through workshops how to maintain and culture the ‘Zebrafish’ facility for research purpose. It is very commonly used by the scientists for different kind of toxicology and cell biology research bolstered with molecular biology techniques.

The certificate of participation mentioning training details will be given to the students.
